Unidos por una misma causa

On the occasion of the arrival of Pope Francis in Ecuador, the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador implemented the “1 million trees for Ecuador” program, with the objective of “sensitizing the PUCE educational community and Ecuadorian society in the care of the Common House, through coordinated actions between the seven campuses of the university, in coordination with the public, private and civil society sectors” (1).

The participation is both people and entities to achieve this goal, reforesting around 1000 hectares with native and endemic trees in Ecuador.

The sowings for this program are carried out mainly in the provinces where the PUCE houses one of its headquarters. Currently, they have 8 of these.

It should be noted that this is not limited to central or autonomous governments, entities, or people from other areas of the country support the program. They can communicate with the department in charge of the University to offer or propose sites to be recovered.

For this reason, we inform our distinguished community that, from this moment on, Fundación Amazonía Productiva, in accordance with its philosophy and environmental awareness that it promotes and disseminates in society, and the PUCE are united by the same cause as strategic allies, seeking to cultivate and Raise awareness in the population of the benefits that come with donating to environmental causes.
